Vienna is one of few cities that has such a great musical heritage. Do you know after all there is a inextricably linkage among this city, waltzes of Strauss, the Vienna Boy’s Choir, and the music of Mozart? Marriage of Figaro is written here by Mozart who was married in Stephansdom, Vienna’s cathedral.

Travelers to Vienna have plenty of opportunities to hear live music, no matter what their tastes and preferences. Whether you’re listening to a band playing folk music in a centuries-old wine garden or enjoying The Marriage of Figaro in one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world, you can find virtually any kind of music here.

Pick up a copy of Wien Monatsprogramm at the tourist office. It lists all the concerts and performances in town. These days, it’s easy to buy tickets to most events in advance. So before you leave home, see who’s playing. If you’d be crushed to miss them, purchase your tickets ahead of time. Sometimes, standing-room only tickets are also available on the day of performance.
