Battle Creek, Michigan (PRWEB) March 05, 2015

In honor of National Drug Facts Week, which celebrates the opportunity to shatter myths about drug and alcohol abuse in schools and communities across America, A Forever Recovery has released a Fact Sheet with information on some of the dangers and statistics involved with substance abuse. Launched in 2010 by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, this annual promotion of the truth about drugs and alcohol aims to counteract the illusions that teens and young adults get from television, movies, the Internet, music or their peers.

A Forever Recovery is an open-ended substance abuse treatment program and facility located in Southwest Michigan. The idea behind releasing information on the dangers of substance abuse is to give parents and their children tools to avoid the path of drugs and alcohol.

“It’s all about the kids,” says A Forever Recovery’s CEO Per Wickstrom. “We have to show them the right path, the right way to do things, and get them to avoid substances before they start. The only way to do that is to educate them, teach them the truth about the dangers that they face when they use drugs and alcohol.”

About National Drug Facts Week

National Drug Facts Week was held during the last weeks of January and first week of February this year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse [NIDA] partners with the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, and the Drug Enforcement Agency, among others. This is in an effort to provide honest and truthful facts about drugs to teens in communities across the countries.

A Forever Recovery stands in support of the ideas behind National Drug Facts Week on a year-round basis by offering assistance and information to anyone seeking help for themselves or a loved one struggling with addiction or substance abuse.
